Obituary for Wilmer “Wilman” Bowens

Wilmer (Wilman) Bowens , 68, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Wilman was born on October 3, 1955 to Odessa Powell and Alfred Bowens in Hillister, TX.

He attended Kirby High school in Woodville Tx and was a long time resident of the Hillister Community and a member of the Little Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. He later moved to Livingston, TX and became a faithful and dedicated member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Cold Spring, Tx where he was ordained and served as a deacon under the leadership of Pastor Charles Horton.


He is preceded in death by Alfred Bowens (Dad), Odessa Bowens (Mom), Clyde Bowens (Brother), Micah Fletcher (Grandson), Eddie Barclay (Brother). He leaves to cherish his memories five children, Shundria Bowens (Aaron) of Port Neches TX, Randy Bowens of Hillister, TX, Stacy Bowens (Gerald) of Spring TX, LaToya Bowens of Houston, TX and LaTonya Fletcher (Jeremiah Fletcher) of Spring, TX. Four grandchildren, Jahniqua, Makaila, Justin and Eryn. Three great grandchildren, a niece and a host of relatives and friends.
