Velma Wright-Phifer, 93, of Woodville, Texas formally of Flint Michigan, took wings in December 17, 2020 in Woodville, Texas.
Velma, was born November 22, 1927 in Rochell, Louisiana Velma worked at the air control, Woodville Dogwood Inn, and several cafe. Velma founded the New Pilgrim Baptist Church by supplying the nails 73 years ago.
Velma Wright-Phifer, was preceded by her parents Edgar and Bertha (Gant) Wright, husband Clifton Phifer Sr. (1) son Verlon Walker Sr., (2) daughters Junnie Chattmon, and Audrey Phifer. Son in law Leon Fant Sr.(Bertha), Roy Chattmon(Junnie), Lugene Maxie Sr.(Thelma), Ricky Owens Sr.(Velma) Bernard Walker(Jill), and Melvin Walker(Diana). (10) sisters including Ola Rigsby, and Dessie Thower (3) brothers including Thomas Wright.
Velma Wright-Phifer, is survived by sons: Clifton Phifer Jr. (Catherine), Robert Phifer (Vanessa), Anthony Phifer(Tonya) daughters: Bertha Fant and Diana Walker, of Woodville, Texas Thelma Maxie, Dorthy Calloway (Craig) Velma Phifer, Jill Walker all of Flint, Michigan daughter in law Shelia Walker of Adalanta, California. A host of grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids.
Services for Mrs. Velma Wright-Phifer are as followed:
Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 11:00am at Magnolia West Cemetery in Woodville, Texas.

Coleman’s Family Mortuary along with the Wright-Phifer family will require all family and friends to wear their masks and use all safety precautionary measures as well as practice social distancing upon entering the services .
