Obituary for Tommie Louis Bean

On September 15, 1937, Tommie L. Bean was born to Harry and Agatha Bean in Hillister, Texas.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early under the leadership of late Rev. Harry Bean at Little Baptist Church. Tommie later moved his membership to Little Flock Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Mitchell. Tommie attended Hillister Elementary/Junior High School and graduated from Scott High in Woodville, Texas. He was a star Basketball Player. He later moved to Houston, Texas in 1959.

Tommie was a hard worker; he worked at Pilgrim Mattress Company making pillows for 5 years. In 1965 he stared working for the City of Houston Humane Society Department as a Live Stock Supervisor for 26 years and he retired in 2009.

Tommie was a member of the Houston Brush Trail Riding Club for 20 plus years. Riding horses was his passion. Tommie was the youngest of ten children and the last deceased.
Tommie was a very caring and easy-going person and would give you his clothes off his back. He was loved by so many in Hillister, in Woodville, in Beaumont and in Houston as well. He had a heart of gold.

He proceeded in death by his parents, eight brothers and one sister.

Tommie leaves to mourn his children, Donna Bean-Kelly (George), James Bean, Nancy James (Robert), Richard Bean (Mary) Theola Moye (Friend), eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, Special great niece and great nephew Natasha Watts (Michelle), Archie Watts (Rooster), also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
