When I think of my mother Sherri Jean Pannell I am reminded of a timeless quote “only the good die young” this quote is my mother perfectly. The quote means that the individual is extremely regarded people who are morally upright, kind-hearted, and compassionate tend to die at a younger age than most people do.
My mother loved her family and wanted to live. She fought to hold on to her life until her very last breath. I am going to miss her dearly. There is no one else in this world who is like her. She gave love to everyone she knew. You could always fell that love.
One of the greatest lessons my mother taught us was to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again. She took off my training wheels off my bicycle when I was five and I rode straight into a brick wall. Then, picked me up and put me back on my bike and I tried again until I could ride the bike.
She always put her family before herself. I remember we didn’t have much growing up, but she made sure we had food on the table, good clothes and shoes and we had most of what we wanted. My mother worked her body to the bone to make sure her children didn’t go with out and sacrificed her own needs to make sure my siblings and I were taken care of.
