Obituary for Rose Mae Finister (Whitmore)
Rosa Mae Finister-Whitmore,67, of Kountze, Texas passed away Monday, October 30, 2023.
Rosa Whitmore was born September 24, 1956 to Luevenia and Norman Finister in Kountze, Texas. She departed this life on October 30, 2023.
Rosa accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Greater Mount Corinth Baptist Church.
She attended school in Kountze, Texas. She united in marriage to R T Whitmore in 1979 and to this union three children were born. Rosa worked as a Nurse’s Assistant for several years and enjoyed working with and pleasing the elderly. Rosa was always fun loving and full of energy. She never met a stranger. She was a very hard worker and provided for her family. Rosa made the party come to life and that included her dancing and singing with her grandchildren making memories. The love for others came freely with family being very important to her.
Rosa was preceded in death by her father Norman Finister, husband R T Whitmore, brother Jessie Finister and daughter Kizzy Finister.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother Luevenia Finister of Stockton CA, daughters Shontal Cole (Stanley) of Beaumont, TX Sherika Whitmore of Katy, TX and one special son Demarcus Mattox of Kountze, TX. Sisters Louise Finister of Kountze, TX, Gwendolyn Prosser and Jacqueline Thomas of Stockton, CA, and Othena Thomas of Beaumont, TX. Two brothers Anthony Thomas of Barefield, CA and Modie Finister of Humble, TX. Grandchildren;Diamond Cole (Trey), Lechedrien Cole, Orlando Warren of Katy, TX and Stanley Cole Jr of Silsbee, TX. Three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
