Obituary for Patsy Whitmore
Patsy Jean Harmon Whitmore was born April 17, 1964 to the late Rosie Lee Harmon and Louis Shiheed. She was raise by her grandparents, Tom and Inell Derry (both are deceased). Patsy grew up in Kountze Texas, and graduated from Kountze High School in 1982. Patsy gave her life to Christ at an early age. Her first church home was the Church of Christ in Kountze, Texas. Some years later, she became a member of Green Pine Baptist Church, where she remained for years. She later joined St. Beulah Baptist Church in Silsbee, Texas where she served as a faithful member until her health failed and the Lord called her home. Patsy had many things that she loved, baking and cooking for others was one of them. More than anything else, she love her family. She love her children and she adored her grandchildren. She was such an encourager. Regardless of how good or how bad she felt on any given day, she was always ready to encour- age someone else.
During her years on this earth, Patsy worked in many different positions. Her first job was at Dairy Queen. She worked at Buckners, at Met Head Start, and with Crime Victims Assistance. The one thing that is evident in all that she did, it was all about serving others. She was always read to help someone in need.
Patsy is preceded in death by her mom, Rosie Lee Harmon; her grand- parents, Tom and Inell Derry. Her brother: Otis Harmon and her aunt Lillie Boykin Patsy leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 35 years: John W. Whitmore. Her children: Jacobi Harmon (Shaler) of Silsbee, TX; LaKreshia Harmon Whitmore of Kountze, TX; John Whitmore II (Ashley) of Silsbee, TX and Lydea Whitmore of Kountze, TX. Her grandchildren: JaKayla, Jayla, Jacobi II, Jalynn, John III, Jasiah and Julianna. Her special nieces and nephew: Travis Harmon, Tasha Harmon and Rebecca Banks. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her father: Louis Shiheed. Her brothers and sisters: Eddie Harmon of Beaumont, TX; Rose Harmon of Kountze, TX; Dell Marie Gilder of Beaumont, TX. Her sister-in-law: Zena “Sue” Henderson (George) of Silsbee, TX. Her brother-in-law: Arthur J. Whitmore (Vicky) of Kountze, TX. Two uncles: Charlie Tyson and James Tyson Sr. both of Kountze, TX.
Patsy leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friend to cherish her memories.
