Obituary for Mary Marie Jenkins
Mary Jenkins "RICKIE" was born in Honey Island, Texas on January 3, 1944 to Earnest Jenkins Sr. and Irene Adams Jenkins.
Mary passed away peacefully from this life on February 28, 2022 after a gradual decline in her health. She was surrounded with love ones during her time of death.
She attended Kerr High School, graduating Class of 1961. Mary later attended Prairie View
College to further her education. She served as long term active member for many years at Freedonia Baptist Church of Bon Wier, TX. There she was also a choir member for numerous years until her health declined
Her favorite song to sing was "because he lives". She was also a caregiver/provider in home health field for several years. She worked at Kirbyville Nutrition Center as a dietician for many years as well.
She enjoyed cooking/canning, family dinners, porch sitting to visit with family/friends, avid
sports fan, and loved watching westerns on TV. She had a heart of Gold and an unforgettable smile. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends in the surrounding communities.
She was a loving mother and grandmother/great grandmother. She is survived by 4
children: Karen Michelle Samuels, Marcia Jenkins, Mike Jenkins(Connie Lewis),
Michael Jenkins(Cassie Jenkins), daughter-n-law: Karen Jenkins, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren
along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Jeweline Diggles, Earnest Jenkins Jr, Vernon Jenkins, Emma Easterling, Earnestine Nelson, Opal Kellum, and lifelong dear family friend Elworthy Young "Shorty".
Mary was proceeded in death by: Her parents (Earnest Jenkins Sr. and Irene Adams Jenkins),
Her sister (Emma LeDay), brother(Edward Jenkins), and son (Troy lopez Jenkins).
