Obituary for Lorilee Mitchell

Lorilee Mitchell (Red) was born on February 16,1961 to the late Rev. James and Gladys Mitchell in Woodville, Tx. Lorilee received her formal education through the Woodville Public School System, where she excelled in her studies.

Lorilee "Red" accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Woodville, TX. She later moved to join her own father; Rev. James Mitchell in the ministry at New Pilgrim Baptist Church of Woodville, TX. She remained a faithful member until his passing. Lorilee then became a member of Little Flock Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry Mitchell. She truly loved the Lord and demonstrated it daily.

Lorilee retired from Georgia Pacific after 38 years. After becoming extremely bored she came out of retirement and went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a mailroom clerk. In her leisure, she enjoyed attending church and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her loving father; Rev. James Mitchell and mother; Gladys Mitchell and a beloved niece; Amber Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memory three children; Katrina Kirkwood (Kenneth), Shanice Bronson (Chris) and Chelsea Merchant. Five grandchildren; Taylor Mitchell, D'Quincy Wise, Christopher Bronson, Aubrey Bronson and Ayden Merchant. Three brothers; James Mitchell Jr. (Brenda), John Arthur Mitchell, and Larry Mitchell (Rachel). Five sisters; lma Jean Mitchell, Mamie Bell (Perry), Joyce Ann Burrell (Earl), Glenda Smith (Stephon) and Ester Benjamin. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
