Obituary

Lawrence “Wayne” Wyatt was the eighth of ten children born to the late Ennis and Vera Wyatt on November 2, 1949 in the Oak Grove Community of Chester, TX. He departed this earthly life on May 31, 2020 and transitioned into eternal rest when the Heavenly Father called him home. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Claude Wyatt, and sisters, Lillie Mae Berry and Bonnie Jean Darden.

He attended school in the Palestine and Chester Communities. He graduated with his high school diploma from Chester High School. He was then employed as a mechanic at the Exxon in Chester for many years and later worked at Georgia Pacific as a security guard. Wayne had a very kind spirit and limitless love for all people. He loved to constantly joke and laugh, and was affectionately known throughout the community by various names such as, “Slim”, “Buzz”, “Sneaky Pete” and “PaPa”, to name a few. He had a great love for cars, fishing, the Dallas Cowboys, and most importantly, his family. There is nothing he would not do for them. His greatest joy may have been spending time with his step great-grandchildren, “The Paw Patrol”. Wayne will be missed immensely by all of those who were fortunate enough to feel the love that he so effortlessly displayed.

He leaves the following to cherish his memories: 2 sisters: Louise Johnson -Chester, TX; Eddie Darden (Billie)-Houston, TX. 4 brothers: Charles Wyatt – Houston, TX; Robert Wyatt-Woodville, TX; Rev Lester Wyatt (Karen)-Beaumont, TX; Rev Albert Wyatt (Senortha)-Chester, TX. 2 step-children: Dimpsey Paire (Angela)-Woodville, TX; Katrina Paire – Woodville, TX; 6 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; and a wealth of nieces, nephews, and friends. He also leaves behind his special friends: Rosalyn Davis, Vilar Brown, Bo Whitehead, and Narcisa Berry, Jr.
