Obituary for Larry Darnell Whitaker

On October 17, 1953, Larry Darnell Whitaker was born to Lonnie B. and Ruby Jewel Whitaker in Corrigan, Texas. Larry attended W.W. Johnson school in Corrigan and was employed with Champion Plywood Plant over the years. He later dedicated his life to Christ and became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until God called him home.

Larry married his life partner Lynnett of over forty years on August 2,1996. From that union, they were blessed with nine children.

Larry Whitaker is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie B. and Ruby Jewel Whitaker; brothers, Charles Whitaker, Thomas Walker, Tyrone Whitaker; Son, Christopher Coleman and Grandson, Brandon Coleman.

On May 28, 2022, Larry transitioned from his Earthly home to his Heavenly Eternal home. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, wife, Lynnett Whitaker; daughters, Carolyn Jernigan (Gabe), Dorothy Love (Thomas), Elexicus Colman (Carl), Britney Gardner (Omar); Sons, Larry Rattiff (Aimee), Zicorian Coleman, Marcus Coleman, Michael Whitaker; Special Nephew, Wade Whitaker; Sisters, Brenda Jefferson, Rosemary Whitaker Barlow, Doris Whitfield (Charlie), Tammy Wright (Raland); Brothers, Rev. James Whitaker (Brenda), Allen Whitaker; Aunts, Easter, Verline, Bobbie and Uncle Chester from Baytown; Special Children, Vickie Freeman, Michael Mitchell, Rick Mitchell, Corneulis Mitchell, Karron Rattiff; 24 grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Special Friend, Wayne Williams (Rat)
