Obituary

Jacqueline Strong Campbell, best known to most as Jackie, was born on July 30, 1955 to Gloria Jackson. She received her education at Crispus Attucks High School, graduating in 1973. Jackie retired from Indianapolis Public School on May 17, 2019. From there she decided to relocate with family to Houston, Texas to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren.

God called her to eternal rest Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her mother Gloria Jackson and grandson Kory Lorenzo Ford.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Ebony R. Parks, granddaughter, Aniyah R. Smith, grandson, Tristan L. Ford and beloved cousins and close friends.

I'M FREE
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.

To the family of Jackie,
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Jackie. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I had the privilege to get to know her at the IPS Education Center while she worked "next door" to our department in Automation. Hers was a quiet and friendly manner as she day in and day out worked on those hundreds of IPS invoices.
I look forward to the time when "death will be no more" (Revelation 21:4) and never again we will have to say goodbye to those we love. A time when Jesus fulfills his promise that there will be a resurrection of those we love. (John 5:28,29) Until that time my prayers are with you during this time and the many days after.

I worked with Jackie for many years. I was her IT support person. She always had a smile when I saw her. We could always make each other laugh. May God be with you Jackie. You will be missed. Prayers go out to all of your family.
