Obituary for Gloria Dean Lewis (Roebuck)

Gloria Dean Lewis was born July 30, 1956, to the late Willie & Annie Bell Roebuck. Known for her famed Gumbo & Tamales, Gloria was a hardworking Mother & great Cook who loved her children and enjoyed entertaining guests. Gloria grew up in Jasper, TX where, as a child, she attended schools in Jasper’s Independent School District. At an early age, Gloria joined Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, and after moving to Dallas, she joined Freedom Baptist Church. Gloria later relocated to Galveston, TX where she took pleasure in her love of the water - Fishing and Crabbing were some of her favorite pastimes. Gloria lived life to the fullest; she marched to the beat of her own drum and was always the Life of the Party. With a smile that lit up the room, and a heart big enough to fill it, Gloria was well LOVED and will be greatly MISSED by those nearest & dearest to her.

After a wonderful visit with all 6 of her children on Tuesday, March 22, Gloria received her wings early Wednesday morning, March 23. Gloria left the world with the same bang she entered with, Those waiting to welcome Gloria to paradise are her Sons: Cordell Lewis & Jimmie Lewis, Jr., her Grandsons: Aaron Starks & Marcus Williams, Jr., her Brothers: Amos Kenebrew, Will Earnest Roebuck & Alvin Roebuck, and her Sisters: Mary Jo Johnson & Frances Twine.

To continue her legacy and cherish their many shared memories, Gloria leaves her Children: Precious Lewis-Silas (Billy), Andrea Lewis, Adrian Lewis (Meghan), Jermany Lewis, Cierra Williams & Cedrica Williams, Grandchildren: Jermel Lewis, Keavin Bowman, Mar’Kelen Chance, Jermel Turner, Jada Turner, Jaiden Turner, Cameron Williams, A’Juan Williams, Camille Franklin, Adrian Lewis, Jr., Cortlyn Franklin, Kai Green, Cambri “Queen” Williams, Tyler Lewis, Taylor Lewis, Jordan Jones & Akeem Roebuck, Great-Grandchildren: Eli Williams, Mayumi Williams, Righteous Williams, & Kazumi Williams, Siblings: Essie Mae Johnson (David), Elroy Kenebrew (Annette), Willie Earl Kenebrew (Margo), Brenda Roebuck (Billy) & Johnnie Kenebrew, and her “Tribe:” Randa Smith, Debra Fulton, Corey Franklin, Arthur May, Verna Thompson, Mamie Kenebrew, Bonnie Phipps, and Merlin Byrd.
