Obituary for Doris Tubbs (Arline)

Doris Tubbs (Arline), 88, of Hillister, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Doris “Arline” Tubbs was born September 17, 1935, in Tyler County to the late Ezra Arline & and Birda
“Foster” Arline, who preceded her in death. She was the first of 3 children born into this union.
During her school days, she received her education at Scot Elementary, Junior and High School,
graduating on May 25, 1956.

After moving to California, she met her husband, Collie Webster Tubbs and nine months later they were united in Holy Matrimony on June 22nd, 1963. They were married for 58 years until he departed this life on September 1st, 2021. During most of her employment history, she worked for Paper Mate, a Gillette Company until she retired.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Personal Savior, She attended Figueroa
Church of Christ located in Los Angeles, California, and was baptized on October 4, 1970, and faithful to
her commitment to Christ. In April 1994, upon retiring they moved back to her hometown, Hillister, Texas, where they enjoyed living the country life. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, especially baking, “cooking for others”, with “special seasoning” or “flavoring” with everything she cooked. Best of all serving the Lord was her priority and gathering with God’s Family on Sundays to fellowship at The Hillister Church of Christ was the highlight of her life, forsaking not to assemble herself until her departure.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, stepmom Gladys her son Richard, brothers Josephus & Loving Sister-n-Law Emma who assisted her in many ways, Ezra Duane Arline, And many other precious relatives.

She leaves to cherish her memories, their children, Ronnie (Gloria) of Dayton, Ohio, Harper; a daughter,
Cynthia Johnson, Sister-N-Law, Claudine T. Lee, of Marion, Alabama, Brothers, John H. Arline and William (Barbara) Bolden, Sisters, Carolyn (Ernest) Gray, Marilyn (Wilbert) Barnett, Bertha Arline all of Hillister, TX. Four grandsons, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends. Her special friend, Kate Springfield, of LaMirada, California, and Special nieces Myrtle Turnball of Montgomery, Alabama and Tiara Limbrick-Hillister,Tx Special Nephews Christopher Gray of Hillister, TX and Judge Tubbs of Berkely, California.
