Deacon Robert L.C. Johnson, 88, of Corrigan, Texas departed this life Monday October 25, 2021.
Deacon Robert L.C. Johnson was born to the union of Lena Johnson and Johnny Johnson in Palestine, Texas in 1933. He attended school in Chester, Texas, and enjoyed playing sports, especially football. Deacon Johnson accepted Christ at an early age and attended church in Chester and Palestine. L. C. later married
Parthana Baker. To this union three children were born, Patricia Johnson, Rodgers Johnson and Robert Johnson. L. C. later joined union to Roxie Hood and had one child Marshall McQueen Jr; . L.C. Joined Lilly Island Baptist Church in Camden, Texas under the Leadership of Rev. Bryant Hubert. and served as a Deacon and a member of the Brotherhood for twelve years.
Mr. L.C. Johnson worked at Champion Internations for 47 years. He later moved to a small community, Rayburn Hills and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1989 under the leadership of Rev. Ceasar Parker. He stayed married to Roxie Johnson for 47 years until her death in 2005. During his many years at Mt. olive Baptist Church, he served as the President of The Deacon Board, a Sunday School Teacher and Chairman of Treasure. He stayed faithful until his health failed him. Wanda Joyce Baldwin in 2014.
Deacon Robert L.C. Johnson leaves to cherish his memories: his Wife Wanda Johnson. Two Sisters, Floriene Johnson of Houston, Texas and Freddie Horn of Chester, Texas; two Children, Patricia Rigsby of Corrigan, Rodgers (Evelyn) Johnson of Houston, Texas. Daughter in-law, Elaine McQueen. Grandchildren:
Roxie (Justin) Nash of Lufkin, Joyce (Willie) Jones of Lufkin, Texas; Bodrick Johnson of Houston, Texas and Marcus Cannon of Lufkin, Texas. Great Grandchildren: Zahir, Zakia, Zack, Genesis, Christian, Isaiah, Jasmine, Nicolos, NeNe and Keia; Madeline (Charles) Wright of Killeen, Texas, Franz Baldwin (Wife) of Houston, Texas, Frank Jr. (Wife) Baldwin of Houston, Texas and Zelma Freeman of Diboll, Texas. Grandchild Kadeishia Baldwin, Xavier (Meghan) Baldwin of Corrigan, Texas, special nephew Josa (Doris) Carrington
of Colorado, Springs, Great-Grand Baby Lil Zia. And a host of great-grand children, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his Mother, Lena Johnson and Father, Johnny Johnson; Sisters, Francis Criswell, Lottie Parks, Alice Smith, Mae Johnson and Irene Dearman; Brothers, Odell Johnson, James Johnson and Roosevelt Johnson; Wife Roxie Johnson; Children, Robert Johnson, Marshall McQueen, Jr.; Grandchildren LaTaria Rigsby, Tony Johnson, Marvin Johnson and One Great-Grand child, Marcus Cannon Jr.
