Obituary for Cora B. Diggles (Fowler)

Cora B. Fowler Diggles, age 76, passed away peacefully June 10, 2021. She was born December 15, 1944, in Jasper, Texas to Elbert and Roberta Fowler. She married her long-time friend and love Leroy Diggles in January 1963, who also proceeds her in death in 1998. Cora gave her life to God at an early age under the leadership of the Church of God in Christ. Cora loved to love on people. She cooked constantly and her hands where rarely still. She shared her love with a passion for food and passed it on to her children, grandchildren, and a host of nieces.

For 20+ years Cora worked at Jasper ISD food service as the head cook and baker. She also worked for many years at Mount Olive serving the children in the communities during summer feeding programs. She served the homeless, the widows and the orphans from Jasper to Dallas Texas. She always said that the world can always use one more kind person. It suited her heart to serve.
Her life was a living example of her favorite bible verses Galatians 5:13 (KJV) For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another and Matthew 20:28 (NIV) just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Preceding her in death: Father-Elbert Fowler, Mother-Roberta Fowler, Siblings- Elbert Fowler Jr., Loretha Daniels, Hubert Fowler, Ronald Wayne Dinnon, Shelia Dinnon and son in love Reginald Williams.

Cora B. Diggles leaves to cherish her memories her children (5) daughters Sherry Renfro, LaShunda Gulley (Willie), Safreda Diggles, Sonya Taylor (Michael), Shagala Williams (Reginald); (2) sons Leroy Diggles Jr. (Andrea) and David Diggles (Marlys).
