Obituary for Claudia Mae Samuel (Ford)
Claudia Mae Samuel ,87, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Claudia Mae Samuel, was born June 22, 1936. She was raised by her mother Gastevie Perry and step father Mr. Perry in Honey Island, TX where she grew up and graduated highschool.
In 1958 she met and married Louis Samuel (deceased) in San Francisco, CA and relocated there in 1961. Of this union, two children where born. LaDeanna Renee Franks and Saundra Denise Samuel.
Claudia worked as an LPN and CNA until she opened her own daycare.
She was an active member of Star Bethel Baptist Church and Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, CA. Her favorite poem was the Serenity Prayer.
In her younger years, she loved attending social functions, cooking for family and friends, camping, sewing, and interior design. She also loved traveling but especially road trips. More than any of these things, she loved to TALK. She was a lover of life and lived her life exactly the way she wanted to.
Claudia Mae Samuel passed away on December 7, 2023 at the age of 87 leaving to cherish her memory her two daughters LaDeanna Renee Franks and Saundra Denise Samuel. Grandchildren Jordan Louis Franks, LaTasha Renee Samuel, DeVaughn LeShea Turner, Monique Rashawn Hatcher-Harden, Avery Alexander and a special family friend Hannah Anderson.
Claudia was preceded in death by her husband Louis, parents Gastevie and Mr. Perry, her brother Freddie Lee Johnson, a special uncle Wilbert Sells, and a special in-law and friend Johnnie Sells. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Although she loved her family and friends, her first love was Honey Island, Texas and we are grateful that she found her way back home.
