Obituary for Charles Norman Crain, Jr.
Charles Norman Crain Jr (Junior) of Spurger was born on September 20, 1951 and peacefully closed his eyes on November 16, 2020. In that instant, he opened them to rejoice in the beauty of Heaven and into the eyes of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom he loved with all his heart and joyfully served. “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:23.
Junior was preceded in death by his daddy, Charles “Norman” Crain Sr; momma, Ferrell Louise Crain; big brothers Charles Ray and Lee; and little sisters Janice and Sue.
He is survived by Debbie, the love of his life and wife of 49 years; his daughter and son Jennifer and Robert LeBouef of Spurger, his son and daughter Chuck and Alicia Crain of Town Bluff; his grandchildren Caleb and Autumn LeBouef, Courtney Crain, Cassidy LeBouef, Cole and Kade Simpson, and great granddaughter, and namesake, Charlotte LeBouef. He loved them all equally and prayed for them, and future generations, without ceasing. The influence he made on their lives can never be erased or replaced, as it is part of the fabric of who they each are.
He is also survived by a host of family and friends, his church family at Trinity Assembly of God in Woodville, Pastors Wayne and Betty Watts, and his “good, best friend” Lavoy Eason.
He loved God and wanted everybody to have that same love. He was not afraid to tell you of his hope or how you might find it. He loved his family more than anything else on this earth. He was not only their husband, daddy, and Pa, but their hero, mentor, and friend. He was their prayer warrior, encourager, jokester, hunting partner, fish fryer, provider, and the pillar of the family.
He was a proud logger, and in his years before retirement, drove a log truck like his daddy before him. He worked hard all of his days and was the best “flathead” and hand you would ever find. He made his family proud, as they watched his work ethic, and the good life he created for them. There is no doubt that one of his favorite parts of those days was when Debbie and the kids were waiting for him at the door after a long day, and later the faces of his grandkids, as he got off the log truck. He would greet them all with a “Hey”, a big hug, and a smile that put a twinkle in his eye.
Junior will be greatly missed, but today, we can all rejoice because he is whole! He is singing! He is dancing! He is praising! Hallelujah! He is with his Father! Worthy is the Lamb who died for Junior and for you and me!!
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate the One who gave Junior life, and also for the man who God gave us for 69 years.
