Obituary for Casandra Regina McCartney-Keys

Casandra McCartney Keys passed unexpectedly February 6, 2021. She was born February 28, 1957, in Dallas TX, the daughter of Clarence Bean Jr and Dorothy McCartney Bean. She was affectionately known as “Meme” by her grandchildren and “Jeanie” to all her family and friends. She was the middle child whom her father, Clarence Bean Jr. spoiled tremendously. She was married and blessed with three beautiful daughters of her own.

She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Rock of Salvation Holiness Church in Houston, Texas where she was a faithful member, until she relocated to Woodville, TX in 2005. Jeanie attended and graduated from Sam Houston High School, Class of 1976 in Houston TX. Following graduation, she was employed with United Cab Company (dispatcher), Western Auto (supervisor) and as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was very well liked and displayed a strong work ethic. She was known for her great sense of humor, beautiful smile and dimples, her straight forwardness and for marching to the beat of her own drum…

Jeanie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed with her smile and “spirited” personality. She loved her children and grandchildren and would call them nightly to tell them “Meme” loved them. Considered a night owl, she loved playing games on her IPAD, word puzzles and watching old classics like “I Love Lucy” and “Gunsmoke”.

Jeanie is preceded in death by her loving mother; Dorothy Faye McCartney Bean and brother Wendell Porter Jr.

She is survived by her loving father; Clarence Bean Jr (Woodville, TX), for whom she was the center of his universe. Three cherished and adored daughters, Tarkisha Nelson (Eric) Houston, TX, Ka’Netra Williams (Donald) Houston, TX, Raquel Woodard (Houston, TX). Ten loving grandchildren- Deja, Dwight Jr., Javeya, A’Isayah, Albert, Alijah, Teliah, Ariel, Christian, and Summer. Devoted sisters and brother; Linda Davis (Houston, TX), Wanda Porter (Lufkin) and Danny Bean (Woodville,TX). As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
