Obituary for Alice Marie Cleaver (McDaniel)
Alice Marie McDaniel Cleaver, 80 of Kountze, Texas transition to glory Tuesday January 9, 2024.
Alice Marie McDaniel was born in Crockett, Texas November 11, 1943 to the late Nathaniel and Annie Mae McDaniel. Alice attended school at George Washington Carver High School. She later met and married her husband Horace Cleaver of 58 years.
She worked for Kirby Lumber Company and Kountze ISD for over 25 years. Alice accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Green Pine Baptist Church where she was an active member until her health declined. She was also a faithful member of the Royal Candace Ladies Club and a beloved pillar in the community until she departed this life on January 09, 2024.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Annie Mae McDaniel, daughter Beverly Jean McDaniel Cooper, son Tarras Damond Cleaver, 2 brothers- Bias Eugene McDaniel, Anthony Ray McDaniel, and sister- Ida Pearl Arnold.
Alice leaves in God's care- husband Horace Cleaver, 2 daughters Lisa (Jimmie) Powell, Erika Collier of Kountze, TX; sons Horace (Gwen) McDaniel, Kenneth (Troylonjia) Cleaver of Kountze, TX. Alice also gained through marriage two daughters Gloria (Lloyd) Lacy of Houston, TX, Dina Grant of Beaumont, TX. Sister Beverly (Freddie) Haynes, 4 brothers Curtis, Paul, Nathan of Kountze, TX, Billy Joe (Bonnie) of Silsbee, TX. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who will truly miss her. Alice was blessed with many wonderful friends who loved her dearly.
